ARCS 2016 Talent Show & Silent Auction

on Sat, 02/06/2016 - 22:32

ARCS annual Talent Show & Silent Auction is a highlight of the season!  Offering members of ARCS programs the opportunity to "strut their stuff", the Talent Show features solo, duet, trio and ensemble performances.  This year, Love is in the Air...and also at sea! The Talent Show and Silent Auction will invite audience passengers onto the ARCS SS Love Boat. We encourage our guests to dress in their favourite cruise ship or tacky tourist attire! And as we set sail, our passengers will be serenaded by none other than our very own ARCS members!

ARCS still seeks items for the Silent Auction!  This event is one of our main fundraisers, helping to cover costs such as bursaries, artistic staff, and volunteer recognition, and we need your help.  Contact Robyn Jackson to confirm your donation, e: robyn.jackson@up2something.org

on Fri, 01/15/2016 - 16:27

"Let’s Push Play and make some noise about music in Calgary!" Calgary’s music scene will hit a high note in 2016 as the city hosts JUNO Week and the JUNO Awards (March 28 – April 3) and opens Studio Bell, home of the National Music CentreTourism Calgary and Calgary Arts Development will be amplifying the message around music throughout the year to raise awareness about Calgary’s annual slate of major music events and vibrant music scene.

ARCS is reaching out to help highlight the Year of Music in 2016. The more people promoting and talking about the Year of Music, the more impact we will have together in elevating the value and profile of music in our city.

This is a community initiative with the objective of increasing awareness of and attendance at music events in our city         throughout the year and into the future.

A Holiday Greeting

on Wed, 12/23/2015 - 09:58

As 2015 draws to a close, we send this special message to our singers, friends, supporters and volunteers with wishes to each and every one for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Our family of choirs continues to flourish and we are grateful beyond measure for your participation and contribution to our success.

Over the past year, ARCS has enjoyed unprecedented growth in all of our programs, record attendance at our performances, and an outpouring of generosity from our community of support. We are grateful for your many gifts which allow us to sing and share the gift of music. Our 2015 Christmas production, "Something Christmas", was attended by more than 1,000 people. We take pride in our mission to awaken, nurture and share the magic of voices in harmony. What a privilege to be part of something so worthwhile!

We are delighted to share with you our performance of "O Holy Night" with the combined choirs of Up2Christmas and Up2Something under the direction of Malcolm Edwards.

Thank you for being part of ARCS this past year and we look forward to seeing you in 2016!
